Javier Etcheverría de la Muela

Born in A Coruña in 1933. Law graduate from Universidad de Madrid.

Professional career

Chairman of Banco Etcheverría since 1980, he practiced law for a brief period of time before joining Banco Etcheverría as a general manager. In 1960 he was appointed deputy chairman and in 1980 he assumed the chairmanship. He is a member of the Asociación de Entidades Bancarias (AEB) and Fundación de Estudios Bancarios.

In June 2014 he was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of NCG Banco, S.A. (currently ABANCA Corporación Bancaria, S.A.).

In June 2017, as a demonstration of gratitude for all his work and dedication, first at Banco Etcheverría and then at ABANCA, was unanimously appointed Honorary Chairman of ABANCA by the Board of Directors.
