Carina Szpilka Lázaro

Independent Director

She was born in Buenos Aires in 1968. Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business from ICADE, and Executive MBA from the Instituto de Empresa, Madrid.

Professional career

She started his career in the banking industry in 1991, first in Santander Investment and then in Argentaria. In 1998 she was part of the team that launched ING Direct in Spain and until 2013 she worked in this entity, holding various positions of responsibility, as director of customer service and sales, CEO of ING Direct France from 2008 to 2010 and, from 2010 to 2013, CEO of the entity in Spain.

In July 2014, she was appointed member of the Board of Directors of ABANCA Corporación Bancaria, S.A.

Other relevant positions: She is an independent director of Meliá Hoteles Internacional, S.A.,and Chairwoman of Kanoar Ventures Sgeic, S.A. (K Fund VC).
