Our exceptional buildings
Auditorio ABANCA
The building, best known as ‘Pazo de Ramirás’, was formerly the Palace of the Counts of Gimondi. At the main entrance, the coat of arms of the previous owners stands out. During a later period, it was the seat of the store El Pilar.
The property, renovated up to six times throughout the years, is located at the historic centre of the city of Santiago de Compostela, only a few meters away from the Cathedral. The buildings of that area, defined by their stone facades, and also stone roads, shape the typical architecture of the city’s historical centre.
The rehabilitation and adaptation project of the facilities has respected the original physiognomy of the building, preserving the architectural complex so that it conforms with the adjacent buildings. Within the building, the necessary modifications were made in order to create an auditorium with a capacity of 614 people, distributed between the seating area and a two level amphitheatre.
The main objective of this property of ABANCA is to promote access to culture between the Santiago and Galicia society. The facility is designed to welcome the widest range of artistic manifestations, as well as to strengthen Santiago as an area of conventions and congresses.

Centro Obra Social ABANCA
The Centro Obra Social ABANCA is based at the building of the former Hijos de Olimpio Pérez Bank, which stands out at the centric square of Cervantes, a key component of the upper area of the historic centre of Santiago and the spot where all the surrounding streets meet.
The brothers Olimpio and Cándido Pérez Rodríguez, following his father Manuel Pérez Sáez banking career, established at the 17 Cervantes Square since 1846, bought the adjacent buildings with the aim of building a new construction for the bank. This project was entrusted to the architect Manuel Pereiro Caeiro, Olimpio Perez’s friend and neighbour.
A team, led by José Luis Pereiro, was in charge of the rehabilitation of the building, projected by his great grandfather, to adapt it to the new sociocultural purposes planned by ABANCA. Nowadays, the facilities cover an area of almost three thousand square metres and has three showrooms, an auditorium, a reading room and several training rooms, meeting rooms and different areas that act as a training and information centre. At the back, the building has a gallery that leads to a small garden with plants and trees.
