  • Afundacion

    Afundación, the ABANCA social work foundation, seeks the comprehensive social development of Galicia. Its main goals are to develop a model of high-quality, business-oriented higher education, increase the active role of seniors in society, and promote knowledge through culture.

      Solidarity, cooperation, respect, teamwork, and commitment are the values that inspire our volunteering program, which began in 2014, in which the people who are part of the ABANCA team actively participate.

      Financial education programme

      The program includes activities for different social groups depending on their stage in life.

      The program is divided into four major areas: learning to manage money from childhood; risk management; literacy and financial health for school students, professional groups, and seniors; and business culture.

      +60 we accompany you Program

      In 2020, during the most critical COVID-19 crisis, we mobilized to support seniors with a telephone service serving the more than 14,000 members of 11 senior centers and the entire population of Galicia over the age of 60.

      The purpose has been to be close to this group and identify the situations of greater vulnerability in order to provide support through volunteering. As a result of the program, a study was made of strategies for seniors to cope with this crisis.

      Culture for food

      In collaboration with the local food banks, containers are provided at cultural events held at Afundación venues to serve as food collection points, so that visitors to cultural initiatives can leave donations.

    We promote the cultural development of society by putting all our artistic assets on display. We offer information on and publicize the ABANCA Art Collection, one of the most important private collections in Spain.
